Infant Program
Philosophy
The teachers at Step By Step work hard to provide a safe, nurturing
and educational environment for your Infant.

Deciding to place your child in the care of others and finding the best
environment for them, particularly at such a young age can be
extremely difficult. We strive to make you and your child's first
experience of childcare comfortable and enjoyable.

Our open door to parents policy means you are very welcome to visit
anytime, whether to spend lunchtime with your little one or just to stop
by for a few moments together during the day.

We strive not only to provide a safe, nurturing environment but one
which will help and nurture your child's emotional, physical and
intellectual growth. By working with our parents at Step By Step we
can help provide an excellent, educational start during your baby's
first year of life.
Learning
It is important to us not only to meet all your infant's needs but also develop them emotionally, physically and intellectually.

General play is stressed a lot with our infants, including lots of floor and 'tummy time'. We sing songs, read books, talk and
act silly with the infants. By singing silly songs, reading and talking to the babies we help to build their confidence, their
identity and develop language skills, even at this young age.
Schedule?
Particularly when an infant first joins Step By Step we try to
follow their normal routine, if they have one, as closely as
possible. With time and as your child gets older we can begin
to introduce a more consistent routine for your child. This will
help build their confidence and security.
